None of these questions are meant in bad ways I believe TSA is just trying to be thorough. TSA agents at the CLEAR, PreCheck, regular lines, and the Centurion Lounge help-desk folks will either ask you if you're aware you're in the wrong terminal, ask if you're there for the lounge access, or ask open-endedly why you're trying to pass through a different terminal. However, expect to be questioned by security. The big question is: Am I allowed to pass TSA security at a terminal that is not listed on my boarding pass solely for lounge access? The answer: Yes, you can access an AMEX lounge that is in a different physical airport terminal than your scheduled flight. The Centurion Lounge is in Terminal 4, which is physically separate and has its own separate TSA security checkpoint. I am flying from New York (JFK) to LA (BUR) via JetBlue, which is in Terminal 5.
